Jonathan Riehl is a communications consultant and speechwriter who has worked on Congressional campaigns as a communications director and speechwriter, as well as a consultant for national nonprofit organizations. He holds a law degree from the University of Virginia and a Ph.D. in Communication Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He has taught courses in rhetoric, social movements, and public speaking. An expert on modern conservatism, his writing has appeared both in POLITICO and Congressional Quarterly, where he served as a staff writer and covered Capitol Hill on a daily basis. Riehl’s dissertation was the first in-depth examination of the Federalist Society, the nation’s largest membership organization of conservative and libertarian lawyers, law students, academics, policymakers, and judges.
His current projects include a co-authored book about his experience as caregiver for his mother, who suffers from early onset Alzheimer’s Disease.
